Conductor, composer, and bassoonist Conor P. Anderson breaks from routine. From founding the Youtube-based Steps to Parnassus Ensemble, to performing interactive streaming concerts, to writing the score for a new play or movie, or even creating a musical board game, he brings a trailblazing attitude to contemporary classical music.
Conor has been described as a musician who brings clarity to the most musically complex subject matter. In fact, he believes that performing is intrisically linked to teaching, as all great performers help the audience to discover something new. It is for this reason, that he founded and serves as the music director of the Steps to Parnassus Ensemble, a Youtube-based chamber ensemble, dedicated to using social media and live streaming platforms to educate about music history and composition as well as comissioning and premiering new works online to give a voice to a new generation of composers.
In addition to the online presence of the Steps to Parnassus Ensemble, Conor is also planning a series of live streaming interactive Virtual Recitals as a soloist, where he will play the bassoon, lecture, and do a Q&A with the online audience.
